Imran Sadick Simply Brilliant

Imran seen here with Ronnie Sarwan has quietly been brilliant with the bat and with the ball for his team Sportsman C.C. in the SFCA. He had another fine performance yesterday propelling his team into the league finals. His knock of 49 was a thing of beauty as stroked through the covers, hooked and pulled taking apart the bowling attack. Making it even more superb was that in the semi’s last week he hurt his back and retired on 44. Not at full fitness with pain down his back to his knees he dug in to lead his team to victory.

With two weeks to rest, both he and Ryan will be anchoring Sportsman C.C. batting against the bowling attack of International C.C. led by Gaston and Kemar all FCA player. Great work guys.

Ryan Ramnarine Day To Shine

Ryan Ramnarine Makes His Maiden Century:

Another milestone has been achieved by one of our young talent. It’s been a long time coming as he made his polished, stroke filled century. Ryan today made his maiden 50 and Century on the same occasion today. He opens the batting for Sportsman C.C. in the Premier Division in the SFCA, the highest level in South Florida. His total was 105 as he had 1 six and 9 fours. Congrats to Ryan and at 17 the best is yet to come.

Mikey Singh’s turn to shine at U-15′S

Mikey Singh seen here earlier this year with Ronnie Sarwan had a fine knock at the U-15 nationals. Batting one down he made 27no as the top scorer for the SER in a losing cause. This natural front foot player show his skills he batted through the inning, eventually ran out of partners.

Keep it up Mikey and you’ve made us in the FCA proud.

Faraz Jaferi shines for the SER U-15

Congrats to the FCA’s Faraz Jaferi at the National U-15. He was Man of the Match as he bowled 8 ovs-0- 14runs and 2wkts and also led the batting. He made 65no leading the SER to an easy 7wkts win over the NER. Great work young man, we’re very proud of you.

What a weekend in California. Assembling 11 players and only knowing the 2 that went with me, molding them into a unit to comprehensively defeat an established CCA U-17 team on their home ground was truly a feeling of euphoria. The way the pieces of the puzzle came together was a thing of beauty to defeat a senior team on Saturday and win the championship on Sunday. The boys performed admirably despite the road blocks that surprised us. Great work by Ryan and Zach and although Zach made 54 in the finals and bowled beautifully and was robbed of the MVP award, we took home the major portion of the hardware. Great work guys and special thanks to Ganesh Sanap, President of N. Cal. Ckt. Assn. and team mom Rina. More pics in Action Gallery.

FCA Players in SFCA Premier Division

The Academy is proud to announce that some of our more advanced players will be playing in the South Florida Cricket Alliance’s Premier Division. This is the highest level of cricket in South Florida and this exposure will be the next level for these young players.

Imran Sadick – Sportsman Cricket Club

Ricky Nayar – Myrtle Grove C.C.
Anil Bhawani- Myrle Grove C.C.
Steven Taylor – International C.C. (Steven is currently training with a top team in Jamaica for the summer)

Monique Mathee to play for USA Women’s Team

Monique Mathee becomes the first woman from the Academy to reach the highest level in women cricket in the USA. This stylish left handed bats woman has been training and playing with the Academy’s boys in the build up to the USACA women trials.

She will be heading to Canada for the ICC women championship and we wish her all the best.

FCA T20 Finals

The FCA T20 Finals is set to take place at Brian Piccolo Park on Sat. June 12th at 2pm. The FCA u-19 Chargers will take on India United for this Inaugural title. Everyone is invited to come out and support these youngsters as they go for their first title.
