The FCA continues to expose our players to cricket beyond our local area. Four of our brightest stars will be heading to Sarasota, Fl. to play in two matches over the Memorial Day Weekend. Touring Captain Imran Sadick will be joined by Ryan Ramanrine, Ricky Nayar and U.S. National Under 19 Vice Captain and batting phenom Steven Taylor. They will form the core of the touring team along with FCA coach Wayne Ramnarine.
With the economic struggles for all families, it is the hope that more players will be able to participate in these tours. The exposure to visiting away teams and cities is unsurpassed and a great experience for young cricketers.

The FCA is currently planning 2 overseas tours. The first is expected to be over the Labour Day weekend in early September, 2011 and a major tour and training session to England in the summer of 2012. We are taking these two ventures very seriously and will be looking at the most competitive team to travel. More information will be sent out to players and parents for the first trip in September. It will be open all U-19 players so as to include the best U-17 and U-15′s.
This is in addition to Imran Sadick and Ryan Ramnarine traveling to Trinidad with Everest C.C. to play in 3 matches over Easter Weekend. The Sunday match Easter Weekend will will be a benefit match with many Trinidad cricket dignitaries expected to be in attendance.
On the Administrative side, we are seeking to get all FCA coaches certified at the WICB Level 2 to further develop our players. There is also a plan to get our coaches into a training session to get the ECB certification while in England.

We will be having our monthly match this coming Saturday at Brian Piccolo. We will start the 30 overs match at 10am. Everyone is asked to be there at 9:30am to warm up and wear whites. With the USACA U-17 coming up next month, we will be using this as a prep for that tournament.

In a match up of the two undefeated teams going into Sunday, MCA and FCA match always looked to be a nail biter. MCA won the toss and chose to bat. MCA were all out for a very respectable total of 186. FCA with a depleted side due to injuries, FCA got a limited Ryan Ramarine back for the final day out necessity to make up the 11.
Taylor and Sadick opened for FCA. Off a bad bounce Taylor got out for 51 and Sadick went next, out for 42. With the departure of the top order, FCA batting order was always going to be fragile. All way down to #9 was injured USACA U19 prospect Ryan Ramnarine , coming in one handed. Down to the last wicket, 14 years old Avinash Pritipaul at #11 dug in and held his composure to complete the last over of star bowler of the tournament Kishen Patel. Ryan, back on strike, had no wrist movement to the offside had earlier sweeped and pulled for two 4′s one handed was a sign of his limitations. Facing in what would be a penultimate over, he got a ball on middle and leg, went for pulled shot and powered it for 6 to win the game for the FCA. Pics to follow.
Finals Scorecard: Florida Cricket Academy defeated Michigan Cricket Academy by one wicket.
