A showcase of the FCA’s individuals and the organization’s accomplishments in 2012 saw the introduction of many new faces and a few familiar ones. The event was hosted and emceed long time youth development stallworth and FCA President Wayne Ramnarine. There were seven categories of Junior and Senior awards. Highlights included, starting off the year by winning the FCA hosted U19 Tournament in January and closing out the year with winning the FSCL Division 2 championship.

FCA > FSCL 30 overs Champs

FCA young and upcoming star left arm pace bowler Noman Maqsood cleaned up the tail with figures of 3 for 8 from 1.4 overs to earn FCA a hard fought win and match MVP for himself.

FCA was sent in to bat and struggled to get going with Sherwyn Powell top scoring with 30, Araf Badrudeen 18 and Noman Maqsood 12 n.o. finished with 118 all out in 30 ovs. FCA took the field confindent of defending that total. It got off to flying start as opening bowler Kj Godbole ran through the top 3 batsmen with some magnificent swing bowling. Wickets continued to fall at regular interval with some brilliant catches being taken. In the end Lagaan was bowled out for 114 earning FCA a hard fought Championship. Congrats to the entire team

FCA 2 Day Test Match

The 2 days test match is tentatively set for Aug. 11th and 12th at Miramar Regional Park. All that are interested in playing must fully understand that it will be 2 full days of cricket under ICC test rules (90ovs min./day). Those interested in taking part are ask to register with Paul Mowatt or Wayne Ramnarine.

FCA Host UTech, Jamaica

In conjunction with the City of Miramar, the Florida Cricket Academy will be hosting UTech College from Jamaica April 28th and 29th. On the 28th there will be two T20’s and on the 29th there will be a 40 overs match.

4/28 – First T20: UTech won by 6 wickets – Scorecard…
4/28 – Second T20: UTech won by 21 runs – Scorecard…
4/29 – 40 Overs – Abandoned without a ball bowled.

 

Waiver Forms Required Starting April 1st, 2012

Starting April 1st, everyone will be required to sign and submit the appropriate youth or adult (click on appropriate link) before participating in any FCA activities (i.e. net practice, invitational matches, league matches, etc.).

This is non-negotiable and mandatory. The signed and initialized waivers must be returned to Wayne Ramnarine or Paul Mowatt before April 1st.

 

FCA to play Utech, Jamaica

The City of Miramar and University of Technology, Jamaica presents matches against the F.C.A.
On April 28 at 11am we’ll be playing a warm-up T20 vs. UTech,Jamaica. Then at 5pm our senior players will play their senior team in the 2nd T20. On Sunday Apr. 29th our senior team will play their senior team a 40 overs match. Also there will be a welcome reception at the Miramar Cultural Arts Center on the Sat. following the 5pm match.
All matches will take place with white balls at Miramar Regional Park.
